Whaplode Dig – Thursday, 2nd January: 45 Acres of South Lincolnshire’s Finest
Get ready for another thrilling day of metal detecting in Whaplode, South Lincolnshire, on Thursday, 2nd January!
This time, we’re revisiting one of the most productive sites we’ve ever had the privilege of detecting. For those who’ve joined us in the past, you’ll know just how special this location is, and for first-timers, you’re in for a real treat.
A Legendary Site with Rich History
This location has already produced over 50 hammered silver coins, including an incredible Saxon Edward the Confessor coin. Finds like these are rare and highlight the historical significance of the land we’ll be exploring. The area is steeped in history, making it an absolute hotspot for uncovering treasures from various periods.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! This time, we have tens of new fields available for exploration, offering fresh opportunities for discovery. Whether you’re a seasoned detectorist or a newcomer, this is a chance to uncover some amazing finds.
No Parking Problems This Time
While parking can often be a challenge at this time of year, we’re pleased to announce that parking will not be an issue for this dig. You can arrive stress-free, knowing that logistical concerns won’t interfere with your day. All your focus can go toward swinging your detector and digging up history!
A Bonus Field with Exceptional Finds
In addition to the main site, we’ve secured access to another excellent field just down the road. This field has a reputation for producing quality finds, including a magnificent Tudor gold mori ring. Depending on the number of participants, we may open this field for detecting in addition to the main site. This means even more chances to uncover exciting artifacts and coins!
